Reg’s Adventures in Speaker Plug Shopping
After learning that the adapter I need is apparently no longer sold anywhere, I decide I’ll just get new speakers in general. Cue the following:
SalesDude: [henceforth SD] What do you need the speakers for?
Reg: [super duper excited] My beautiful new monitor doesn’t have any built in and I didn’t realize that. Hence, speakers.
SD: These are super affordable [read: cheap], and will play your music just fine.
Reg: Well, actually, it’s for video games. :3 I’m working my way through BioWare’s Dragon Age and Mass Effect games!
SD: …you like those games?
Reg: [suddenly excited for geekery] Yes! The stories are—
SD: They’re so violent though. And there’s sex.
Reg: [just stares, gobsmacked]
SD: Were those games even made for girls?
Reg: [does not tolerate being “told” by anyone; crosses her arms, turns up her nose, sneers the sneer of death worn by someone who as just decided you’re little more than dirt] No. They were written for people who enjoy intricate interpersonal relationships and detailed plot and story, and if you can’t appreciate anything other than the fucking battle system, then they clearly weren’t made for you. Have a fantastic day, and please stop working in the video game department.
